The Itinerary

Pinawa, a village in the Canadian Shield, is known for its suspension bridge (between the Pinawa and Winnipeg rivers) and Pinawa Dam Heritage Park — remains of Manitoba's first hydroelectric station (1906).

The Old Pinawa Dam, abandoned in 1951, forms an iconic site today with its concrete ruins. The Trans-Canada Trail rapids offer swimming and kayaking. Nearby: Whiteshell Provincial Park. The region attracts artists — galleries and studios to discover.
