About Manitoba Crown Land

Manitoba Crown Land is a free interactive mapping tool built for outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore publicly accessible crown land, provincial parks, wildlife reserves, and other public lands in Manitoba.

Our Mission

To make public land information accessible and understandable for everyone — from weekend campers to hunters, hikers, anglers, and nature photographers. We believe that knowing where you can legally and safely enjoy the outdoors should not require navigating dozens of government websites.

Our Data Sources

All map layers are sourced from official government open-data portals — including provincial ministries, Parks Canada, federal land registries, and regional agencies. We aggregate and display this data in one place for convenience.

What the Map Shows

The interactive map displays land classifications such as crown land, provincial parks, wildlife reserves, protected areas, private land, and specialty zones (ZEC, hunting territories, etc.) depending on the province. Layer colors and legends are defined per region.

Who We Are

We are a small team of outdoor enthusiasts based in Canada. We built this tool because we wanted it ourselves — and we maintain it so others can benefit from it too. This platform covers Manitoba and several other Canadian provinces as well as the United States.

How to Use Manitoba Crown Land

  1. Explore the map — use the interactive map to zoom into any area of Manitoba and see land classifications by color.
  2. Read the legend — each color corresponds to a land type (crown land, park, private land, ZEC, etc.). Click any polygon to see details.
  3. Browse campings — the campings directory lists known sites by region with details on location and features.
  4. Plan a road trip — curated road trip itineraries highlight scenic routes and outdoor destinations across the province.
  5. Download a PDF map — subscribers can download geo-referenced PDF maps of any area for offline use.
  6. Verify before you go — always confirm access rules, permit requirements, and seasonal restrictions with the relevant authority.
